Guys even H1B increases are not that bad. A lot of our spouses could get jobs on h1b if it was open just now. Ultimately isint that what we want? Both husband and wife working?
I know that it could have a possible effect on the EB but I think a LOT of our spouses could work if the H1B quota was available. I know atleast 2-3 such friends whose wives can easily get jobs if the H1B was open.

Thanks for your advice. The intent of the letter is to show a different perspective to Senator Sessions. Nothing more or nothig less. He said he did not receive any feedback from legal immigrants. Fine, we say here it comes. If he continues to block legal immigration reform bills, he has to find another pretext, not "no feedback from immigrants".
There is always a rational side in every human being. Senator Sessions is smart. Let us hope Senator Sessions surprises us by bringing his own version of EB immigration reform.

If someone ports from eb3 to eb2 they should get the priority date of the day they were eligible to file an eb2 and not be able to carry the date from eb3.
Porting makes sense in a family based visa where your petitioner can file for an application while he is still a green card holder and then becomes a citizen which upgrades the beneficiary's category as well.
On an employment visa you file for an eb3 when you are eligible for an eb3 job, you file for an eb2 when you are eligible for an eb2 job. Why would you be able to jump ahead in the eb2 line when you were clearly did not have an eb2 job ? Just because you filed an application at some point of time in eb3 and waited a decade to get a better job doesn't mean someone else has to pay for your (pick one - laziness, ineptitude, lack of skill or lack of knowledge).
Most of IV Core is made of eb3 applicants and therefore there has never been any push from the core on this matter. And as someone said .. You ARE eating my lunch..
ha ha ha ha ha .... till few days back EB2 guys were saying we are with you.... do not be jealous.... fight together for EB... now after this article, now some of EB2 people are not happy with rules & sharing true color of spirit they were talking about...

Aug 15 - Email -> Approval notice sent (for ME)
Aug 18 - Email -> Approval notice sent for Spouse
Aug 18 - Received I-797C Approval Notice for both me and spouse by USPS. In fact i received 3 original copies of the same approval for me and only 1 for my spouse.
Still waiting for the actual cards to come.

What standards are you talking about? All the universities in the US are standard and all are non-standard at the same time. There are no legally accepted ways to define what is standard. Also, the GMAT or GRE or TOEFL are not necessarily indicators of admitting brilliant students. Several ABET accredited departments in engineering schools do not require GRE scores! And yet they are ABET accredited. So this argument makes little sense. (Somehow I think, we've discussed this before :))
As purgan pointed out, the market forces have made this a great country. Even if you have an MS or Ph.D., but if you have no job, you are not going to get a GC; but that has always been the case. I don't know that you can get a job by paying a desi consultant 20K. If that is happening, the law will take corrective action, as it invariably does in this country fortunately. So there is no reason to worry about that provision in the SKIL bill.
But I do agree that it may be easier to get something like doubling the number of GCs temporarily, rather than a blanket provision, passed. (That is like increasing the queue capacity during rush hour and bringing it back to normal levels when the traffic intensity reduces.) But if we increase the H1B quota and only double the number of GCs, we will have an intractable situation.

Applying EB PD but using Visa number from FB Quota would be a awesome. Not sure what complications this may cause on the FB side. This seems like a visa-leak (like memory leak) scenario from FB. This will put GC Holders dependents at a disadvantaged position as compared to us who don't have GC yet because EB PD will always be ahead to FB PD due to 'Visa-Leak'.

All checks cashed including PP for I-140 ON 2nd June 2007.
I have a couple of questions:-
How long before i get a answer on Premium Processing on I-140.
How long for Finger Printing notice.
How long before i get EAD.
Can i renew my CA drivers license with I-1485 filing receipt or do i have to wait for EAD.
Thanks folks and hang in there.( It took 6 years for LC approval).
Usually it is a maximum of 2 weeks. NSC approved some in 2 days.
FP notice in a month or so..
EAD 90 days minimum I guess. I don't know about the other one as I live in MI. we do not need anything like that here.
